Mastodon preview questions
Still deciding? The free trial is the quickest way to find out. It takes about a minute to set up.
How long can a Mastodon post be?
500 characters by default; each server can set its own limit. Text past the limit is marked in the preview.
Is the preview exactly what the network will show?
It is a close match for layout, limits, but Mastodon changes its feed now and then and fonts differ between devices.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The preview runs in your browser and nothing you type leaves it.
Preview on other networks
Preview it, then schedule it on Mastodon.
Postzora shows a live preview for every network next to the editor, so what you see is what goes out.
